Croatia’s medical tourism sector expands

Lošinj Hotels and Villas group (LH&V) has announced a move into Croatia’s medical and health tourism sector.

The Lošinj group’s Hotel Bellevue, in Mali Lošinj, already has a spa clinic but has now opened offices for four specialist medical fields covering dermatology, internal medicine, gynaecology and orthopaedics.

Hotel guests will be able to have access specialists in gynaecology, obstetrics foetal medicine, orthopaedic surgery, traumatology, dermatology and diagnostic services and the treatment of various skin diseases. Also offered is PRP stem cell therapy, aesthetic treatment for rejuvenation, non-invasive skin tightening, minor surgical procedures and injection therapy.

The plan is to launch outpatient clinics in all seven LH&V brand hotels.

Travellers can currently enter Croatia using a negative test, vaccine passport, or proof of recovery. It is the first country in Europe to impose a 210-day expiry date for travellers entering with a vaccine passport.

The time limit will almost certainly be copied by all European countries that accept vaccine passports. Austria’s time limit from second vaccination date is 270 days.
