IMTJ Medical Travel Summit now 2-3 December, Berlin

IMTJ has moved it’s annual Medical Travel Summit from April to later in the year. Editor in Chief, Keith Pollard, says the decision to move the date is because of the current uncertainty and business challenges that Brexit poses for businesses with significant cross border international involvement.

Due to the uncertainty and business challenges that Brexit poses, IMTJ has decided to reschedule the IMTJ Medical Travel Summit 2019. It will now take place on 2-3 December, at the same venue, the Seminaris Campus Hotel, Berlin.

Keith Pollard, IMTJ’s editor in chief, has recently written to delegates, speakers, sponsors and exhibitors, explaining the change. “There is political chaos in the UK Brexit, which has resulted from the UK’s decision to exit the European Union. With 38 days to go, UK businesses have no visibility on what the future holds, how businesses will be impacted by Brexit, what taxes will apply, what visa and travel requirements will be in place and what regulation will apply. This lack of clarity is impacting all businesses, and particularly those with a significant cross border international involvement”, says Mr Pollard. “The IMTJ Medical Travel Summit 2019 was scheduled to take place in Berlin in April, one month after the date for Brexit. Due to the challenges that Brexit poses, we have therefore decided to reschedule the Summit to later in the year. We apologise for the inconvenience caused, but we believe it is a sensible business decision given the current uncertainty.”

For anyone planning to attend the Summit, IMTJ recommends checking availability for the revised date of 2-3 December. IMTJ Summit organisers also advise:

  • If you have already booked a delegate place, we will transfer your booking to the new date.
  • If you have already booked an exhibition stand or sponsorship, we will transfer your booking to the new date.
  • The programme remains unchanged. If you are speaker, and cannot make the new date, please let us know immediately.
  • If you have already booked flights and / or accommodation, then please make the appropriate changes to your bookings. We will refund any fees incurred to change the booking.

The IMTJ Summit conference partner, Temos International, is fully supportive of the change of date.
