Medical tourism venture for China, Hong Kong and Hainan

Insurance conglomerate, China Taiping has partnered with property and services group New World Development to integrate healthcare, technology, finance, wellness, medical tourism and health insurance across China, Hong Kong and Hainan.

With the Greater Bay Area in Hong Kong as the common strategic focus, the two companies have agreed to co-develop four key businesses in the Greater Bay Area, including healthcare and wellness, multi-area investments, insurance businesses and elite customer services.

The Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (Greater Bay Area) comprises the two Special Administrative Regions of Hong Kong and Macao, and the nine Chinese municipalities of Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Zhuhai, Foshan, Huizhou, Dongguan, Zhongshan, Jiangmen and Zhaoqing in Guangdong Province.

As the demand for healthcare and wellness services in the Greater Bay Area continues to grow, New World Development expects to use its expertise in high-quality healthcare services built via its Gleneagles Hospital Hong Kong and Humansa operations. Humansa operates 13 elderly homes and day endoscopy centres in Hong Kong, Kowloon and New Territories.

These services will be combined with K11 MUSEA, a new cultural-retail landmark, as well as eight luxury hotels, including Rosewood Hong Kong, to enhance the travelling experience of China Taiping customers visiting Hong Kong.

The strategic partnership between the two companies will also centre around China Taiping’s large-scale, integrated wellness and medical care communities in Greater Bay Area, its medical tourism project in Hainan, and New World Development’s medical care services in Hong Kong. The shared goal is to provide New World Development’s and China Taiping’s customers with a unique medical tourism experience, and a full healthcare and medical services programme.
