One of the most popular medical tourism destinations in India, Kerala and Kochi are seeing the return of medical tourists.

One of the most popular medical tourism destinations in India, Kerala and Kochi was severely affected by the pandemic.  Medical tourism is however back on the rise, with international health tourists coming in search for the best Ayurvedic, beauty or wellness treatments at convenient prices. Surgery is also on the list of demands.

People from developed countries go to India mostly for surgical treatment because of cost.

Kerala has a big advantage when it comes to cosmetology patients. Main competitors are Thailand and Sri Lanka. The latter is not doing well now because of economic turmoil.

Kochi, and particularly Emakulam, is seeing medical tourists return from Asia, Africa and the Gulf but no Europeans. Local hospitals are target marketing Bangladesh and Nepal and offering packages that include transport and accommodation.
