New investment in US medical tourism portal, VoyagerMed

US medical tourism portal VoyagerMed expands into the corporate buyer sector and targets China. Substantial investment to help launch the corporate buyer version of its on-line marketplace.

New York based VoyagerMed has obtained substantial investment to help launch the corporate buyer version of its successful on-line marketplace for individual medical tourism showcasing US doctors.

The company showcases and acts as an agent for medical tourists from all over the world that want to go to the USA for medical treatment. Current trading has been limited by financial constraints so the cash will enable it to bring in more doctors from all US states.

The key new strategic partner and investor is CL Global Healthcare Fund. Hong Zhou of CL Global Healthcare says, “We are eager to see the company expand to the corporate sector with their medical tourism platform that will help companies minimize costs. Our network in China will be a strategic part of the expanding presence of the VoyagerMed platform. Part of the growth stage for the company is to create a platform for traveling patients that want access to the best American doctors and reach a broader, global audience through our Chinese relationship. The plan is to build the first independent brand for medical tourism that you can trust. Much like Cleveland Clinic, Johns Hopkins and MD Anderson have done to expand their brands globally, we will bring that same marketing power to independent doctors all over the USA.” CL Global Healthcare is a New York medical tourism agency attracting patients from China to the USA.

VoyagerMed is an online marketplace for medical tourism exclusively for U.S. based doctors. The investment will allow it to expand to offer services to U.S. employers seeking to save costs on healthcare by using a domestic medical tourism option for selected procedures such as knee replacement or spinal fusion. The aim is to provide the ‘missing link’ between self funded US employers wanting out of state surgery and hospitals offering domestic tourism treatment packages.
