UAE Capital Health has a new partnership with Chicago’s rehab experts Shirley Ryan AbilityLab, to open specialised rehab hospital in Abu Dhabi.

Capital Health has a new partnership with Chicago’s rehab experts Shirley Ryan AbilityLab, for the soon-to-open SRH in Abu Dhabi.

Capital Health, based in Abu Dhabi, operates the 166 bed Specialised Rehabilitation Hospital (SRH), and Health Shield Medical Centre, a multispecialty outpatient centre; neither are yet open.

The opening of SRH will deliver long-term rehabilitation and long-term care facility with outpatient capabilities, the first in the region. The partnership with SRALab is to offer world-leading standards of treatment and care in the UAE for patients who are often recovering from the most severe, complex conditions — from traumatic brain and spinal cord injury to stroke, amputation and cancer-related impairment. SRALab’s applied research focuses on neuroscience, bionic medicine, musculoskeletal medicine and technology transfer.

The aim is to help remove the need for patients in the UAE to travel abroad for treatment and offer regional medical tourism facilities.
