Medical tourists travelling to Thailand will no longer need to have the Thailand Pass registration and the US$10,000 health insurance from July 1. This requirement was lifted for Thai nationals from June 1.
People planning to travel to Thailand will still need to show, either in print or as a digital copy, their vaccination certificate or a negative RT-PCR or a professional ATK (Antigen Test Kit) test result within 72 hours of travel.
Visitors will have to carry vaccine certificates or take Covid tests on arrival.
There may be random checks on arrival at Thailand’s international airports or land border checkpoints in 22 out of 77 provinces. Those who are found to be unvaccinated or not fully vaccinated, or those unable to show proof of a negative pre-arrival test will have to undergo the antigen.
All 77 provinces in Thailand are green zones, meaning normal activities are now allowed and there are no more COVID-19 pandemic related restrictions.
Now, with all borders open, and international travel taking place, Thailand is in the post-pandemic stage. It has so far struggled to welcome back medical tourists in large numbers.
