Thumbay to build GMU Hospital in Ajman

Thumbay’s new GMC Hospital in UAE will open by 2018. WIth hospitals all around the UAE, this new GMC hospital will focus on medical tourism.

Thumbay Group UAE plan to have the new GMC Hospital in Ajman completed by 2018. With established hospitals in Dubai, Ajman, Sharjah, and Fujairah, the group has also recently launched Thumbay Clinics in Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman, Umm Al Quwain and Ras Al Khaimah.

The 300-bed GMC Hospital will be the teaching hospital of Gulf Medical University. The hospital will focus on medical tourism as the population of the UAE state of Ajman is tiny The city of Ajman has a population of 250,000 and that represents more than 90% of the population of the emirate.

The hospital will feature a robotic pharmacy, a first of its kind in the region, and a radiology department with PET-CT scan, a first of its kind in northern emirates. Plans include a dental centre and a hi-tech rehabilitation centre will have physical therapy, speech & hearing and occupational therapy specialties, and sports medicine. The dental and rehabilitation centres are expected to be ready by September 2016.

The new GMC Hospital will be the largest private hospital in Northern Emirates and will lay special emphasis on medical tourism. The international medical tourism department that works for all Thumbay hospitals aims to concentrate on medical tourism to the UAE. As part of the strategic plans, Thumbay Group is planning to open representative offices in 20 countries to educate people about medical facilities and services at all Thumbay Hospitals in the UAE. It expects to have about 1000 patients as medical tourists per day within 6 years.
