The Health Assurance Hospitals Company is constructing two hospitals, available for expatriates in 2020.
Kuwait has established a shareholding company through the public-private-partnership system, to service expatriates’ health needs. In Kuwait health insurance is a mandatory requirement for expatriates.
The Health Assurance Hospitals Company (Dhaman) has begun the construction of the company’s second hospital in Jahra. In 2017, Dhaman began work on its first hospital in Ahmadi, and the two hospitals are expected to be ready in 2020.
Dhaman’s primary healthcare centres in Farwaniya, Hawally and Dajeej, are expected to start welcoming patients soon. This includes the implementation and transfer of expats from the current health ministry facilities to Dhaman. Dhaman also operates the health insurance that expatriates must buy.
The Dhaman Hospital in Jahra will offer secondary healthcare services with a capacity of 300 beds and 11 operating rooms, in addition to trauma and rehab centres, diagnostic centres, delivery rooms and accident and emergency services.
