According to Total Croatia News Zagreb Tourist Board is increasing its effort in promoting the city’s health tourism capabilities. The Croatian Minister for Tourism is targeting more than US$1.4bn per year from the country’s health tourism in the future.
The article says the majority of health tourists to Zagreb come from Slovenia, Italy and Germany, and most often they see dentists, ophthalmologists and plastic surgeons. Prices in Croatia are substantially lower than in their countries, while the quality of medical services is equal and sometimes even better says the article.
In a different article published on MENAFN, Croatian Minister of Tourism Gari Cappelli was quoted saying that Croatia is expected to see its health tourism “flourish to reach more than US$1.14 billion a year, as the country enjoys mild climate and ecological security.”
