‘Disappointing year’ for Shaw Healthcare

In what the directors described as a disappointing year’, Shaw Healthcare reported a marginal rise in revenues from £87.5m to £87.8m for the year ended 31 March 2015. After operating costs of £69.4m (2014: £69.2m) and administrative expenses of £11m (2014: £12.2m) were deducted, the care provider posted a 22.8% increase in operating profit from £6.1m to £7.5m. However, its 2014 operating figure before exceptional items, including restructuring costs of £260,000 and an impairment charge of £2.1m, stood at £8.3m, higher than the comparable figure of £7.7m for 2015.
