BMI Healthcare sees profits fall

BMI Healthcare subsidiary of South African hospital provider Netcare results to 30 September 2011 showed that operating profit decreased predominantly due to a continued decline in insured volumes, increased NHS volumes at lower tariffs and margins, the cessation of Netcare UK contracts during the year, new sites not operating as optimally as the rest of the group and the increase in the VAT rate which took place in January.
