CancerPartners UK continues to expand

CancerPartners UK racked up heavy losses again last year as it continued to ramp up its operations in the UK. The company, which launched a strategic partnership with Spire Healthcare in 2008 in a bid to provide centres of excellence for cancer treatment outside of the capital, reported turnover of £2.4m against virtually non-existent revenue in 2009 following the opening of two centres in Southampton and Portsmouth. However, expenses leaped to £3.9m from £2.7m a year earlier to leave an operating loss of £1.4m – an improvement on the £2.7m loss sustained in 2009.
