Complete Care edges into profit

Homecare provider to the severely disabled, Complete Care pushed into profit for the year ending 31 March 2013 despite a fall in turnover. Turnover fell from £19.5m to £17.9m but a decrease in cost of sales (2013: £14.1m – 2012: £15.4m) and lower administration expenses, loss of impairment on investments and write-down of good will (2013: £3.5m – 2012: £7.3m) led to an increase in operating profit. Overall, operating profit hit £700,000, a significant improvement on the £2.8m loss made in 2012 and, following interest payments on ordinary activities, profit before tax reached £600,000 (2012: loss £2.9m).
