Constructing care facilities on NHS land: Mick Suggett of Browne Jacobson puts the case for using surplus sites

Over the last five years the NHS has undergone significant reorganisation. In early 2011 the government embarked on the Transforming Community Services Programme. As part of that process many primary care trusts started to look at their estates portfolios more closely with a view to make better use of their land and buildings and rationalise their estate.
