Council spending on adult social services in England remained the same in 2013-14 at £17.2bn, according to the latest figures from the Health and Social Care Information Centre (HSICIC) representing a 1% decrease in real term Expenditure has increased by 7% in cash terms over the past five years from £16.1bn a decrease of 3% in real terms.
