Coventry forced to cut £15m from social care

A senior Coventry councillor has criticised a reduction in government funding that has left the council having to find savings of more than £63m – £15m of which will come from its community services division, which includes adult social care, over the next three years. With existing pressures to current services, the eventual figure is expected to be closer to £22m, the local authority predicts.
