Craegmoor opens £1.8m autism service Craegmoor has opened a new £1.8m autism service in Redcar.

The purpose-built home is on the site of the former Stead hospital and will initially provide 12 single en-suite bedrooms, large lounge, separate dining room and a quiet room. It has been designed to ensure an optimal environment for individuals on the autistic spectrum, including the use of therapeutic colours for wall coverings, lighting and furnishings. A second phase of development will provide individual flats as an additional step towards independent living in supported tenancies.
