Danshell picks up remaining Castlebeck homes

Danshell Adult Healthcare has acquired the remaining estate of Castlebeck from its administrators. The 20 facilities are a mix of care homes for adults with learning disabilities and mental health hospitals located in the Midlands, north of England and Scotland. Parent company the Danshell Group would not disclose how much the portfolio of the disgraced provider cost them but a figure of £35m has been widely reported. The facilities will be brought into the Danshell Adult Healthcare fold, which currently comprises 12 independent hospitals, seven residential services with nursing and three residential services without nursing. It also offers support services for adults with autistic spectrum conditions and acquired brain injuries, as well as in-patient and daycare services for children and adolescents. Sister company Danshell Care Homes has an estate of six facilities for older people with nursing.
