DH unveils final fundamental standards and fit and proper persons test

The government is to introduce a fit-and-proper persons’ test for all directors of Care Quality Commission (CQC) registered providers from April 2015 (CCMn April 2014). Under the proposed legislation, the CQC will be able to insist on the removal of directors who fail the test or cancel the registration of those who do not comply.
