Gloucestershire halts outsourcing plan

Gloucestershire Primary Care Trust (PCT) has been forced to abandon its plan to provide community services using an outsourced social enterprise after a resident took it to court. Last month the trust agreed to settle a judicial review brought by a local pensioner from Stroud, Michael Lloyd, who had objected to a care contract worth £80m being awarded to local social enterprise, Gloucestershire Care Services (GCS).
