King’s Fund produces blueprint for the future of care

Care for older people and the severely ill should be delivered for free, with funding concentrated in a single ring-fenced budget for the NHS and social care overseen by a single commissioner for local services, the King’s Fund Commission on the Future of Health and Social Care has concluded.
