LAs provide better care, but are restricting access

As if on a mission to further destroy relations between itself and independent care providers, the latest edition of the Care Quality Commission’s (CQC) annual survey on the state of health care and adult social care lead on the fact that services run by councils or voluntary organizations are generally of a higher standard than those from the private-sector. However, this came on the back of figures which show that those same council restricted services by 5% during 2009/10, meaning that state support was given to around 80,000 fewer people during the year.
