Bournemouth council hopes to open its first dementia specific extra care facility this month. The 20-unit site, located in Kinson, will include 19 one-bedroom self contained apartments and one two-bedroom apartment. Designed to support people with early stage dementia, features such as Radio Frequency Identification technology will be used for memory reminders attached to everyday items including residents clothes.
