Outsourcing its services for people with learning difficulties is one the options being considered by Somerset county council. The local authority has launched a consultation on the future of the service which supports 900 people on a budget of £26m through day centres, supported living and shared housing, representing around half of the countys market. Cabinet member for adult social care, Cllr William Wallace said: The council wants to make sure that people with learning disabilities get the best possible support in the future and we are looking at three ways of doing that.
