State of care comes down to funding

Providers and trade association, have called on the government to play its part and increase funding following the Care Quality Commission’s (CQC) State of Care report. The report found that some care providers were struggling and that some service users were at risk of unsafe care’ due to the extra pressure placed in the sector by the increasing ageing population and a rise in the number of people with more complex care needs. Chief executive of the English Community Care Association, Martin Green said it was a challenging time for the sector as it struggled with poor funding and ever more complex demands.
