Thank you and goodbye – Southern Cross exits stage

Beleaguered care home operator Southern Cross has been forced to wind up its operations and transfer the ownership of its 752 care homes to its landlords. In an extraordinary announcement the group said that, during restructuring talks, landlords indicated their preference to leave Southern Cross entirely and to take charge of their portfolios themselves.
