Time for fight back

Perception of the private healthcare sector arguably hasn’t been at lower ebb. What with the PiP scandal tarring all private clinics with the same brush and the Health & Social Care Bill – or the furore around it – raising the spectre of privatisation and by association and misinformed suspicion of private hospitals, the private care message is getting tainted. The Private Hospitals Alliance, representing the key players, is looking for a new chief executive as Matt James resigns to concentrate on the Hellenic project. The industry needs to decide whether it is going to retreat from irate anti-private care protesters or get out there and defend and promote itself.
