Tsar for elderly mooted by government

The coalition government is considering appointing a tsar’ for older people, it has emerged. The move follows a debate in the House of Lords when Labour peer Lady Bakewell, urged the government to appoint someone who could promote awareness of ageing issues, challenge age discrimination and offer help and advice to older people.
