Watts hints at interest in failing hospitals

Chief executive Jill Watts of Ramsay Healthcare, the private hospital provider, hinted that the company, which has its roots in Australia, may be interested in taking over a failing NHS hospital on a not-for-profit basis. Speaking at a DLA Piper event, Healthcare in the Modern World, Ms Watts, commented: We’re happy to take on a failing hospital and not make a profit but not happy to take at a loss and turning around is a hard thing to do and requires a long term plan.
