Digital care planning provider Person Centred Software has promoted Andrew Coles to the role of chief executive.
The appointment will see founder Jonathan Papworth continuing his role as a majority shareholder, enabling a greater focus on overseas expansion, strategic partnerships and acquisitions.
With more than 15 years of experience working within the health and care sector, five of which were spent at Person Centred Software as the head of global product, Coles was seen as best placed to oversee strategy across the business and day-to-day operation.
When he joined the business it was achieving one million care records daily. Since then, the company, which also operates in Ireland, Australia and the Netherlands, has reached more than five million daily.
Coles also played an important role in implementing GP Connect. The service allows authorised clinical staff to view and share the clinical information and data from GP practices between IT systems.
‘Even before I joined Person Centred Software five years ago, I knew the plan was to one day continue the mission that Jonathan started,’ Coles said. ‘Jonathan remains fully on board and is thoroughly invested in enabling me to take the business to the next level. I know I will be able to seek his advice and guidance at any time, and he is fully committed to providing any support I feel I need.’
The promotion comes at a key moment for the company, having acquired Atlas eMAR – a medication management system that digitally links care homes to GP prescribing systems and the supplying pharmacy – in May.
Papworth added: ‘Andrew is the perfect leader to take the company forward. I believe his extensive knowledge of the sector and business development skills will strengthen and develop Person Centred Software’s presence. We’re confident Andrew’s commitment to social care and ambition will continue pushing the boundaries even further and fulfil the company’s potential.’
