Hartford Care appoints head of sales and marketing

David Martins

David Martins has joined Hartford Care in a newly created role as head of sales and marketing to support the provider’s growth strategy.

Martins has worked in the care industry for a decade, beginning his career in customer relationship management before progressing to sales and marketing manager having worked at Care UK, Hallmark Care Homes and most recently Advinia.

‘Having previously worked as a retail manager and then a bank manager, I moved into the care sector ten years ago after seeing my grandmother running an assisted living home in Colchester. I was in awe of the way she interacted with the residents and helped them to lead a fulfilling and exciting life and I decided I wanted to do something similar,’ he said.

Kevin Shaw, Hartford Care chief executive, said: ‘Bringing David on board demonstrates the commitment we’ve made to achieving our objective to double in size within three years. We welcome David’s impressive experience in driving the sales and marketing programme in new and existing care homes, and I look forward to working alongside him on our growth strategy.’

In November, Hartford Care acquired two care homes in Hampshire and Wiltshire, bringing the company up to 18 homes with over 860 bedrooms by August 2023. It has an occupancy rate of 87%.
