Staffing provider Kingdom Healthcare has launched two services in Northern Ireland to support caregivers.
The services – social outing support and short break service – aim to provide community focused care through domiciliary and respite solutions. Research shows there are almost five million informal caregivers across the UK, with many struggling with social isolation.
Kingdom Healthcare’s short break service aims to support caregivers to help reduce burnout and improve quality of care. Through homecare or personal care assistance, caregivers will be given a break to recharge and reset.
‘This service will make the caregiving process easier for those caring for people with dementia, physical disabilities, or chronic conditions. Our expert carers have a wealth of experience and expertise to truly give dedicated caregivers a break – whilst keeping the patient at home, in the surroundings they feel the most comfortable. The service means the changes in care can be as seamless and smooth as possible,’ said Jay Thinsa, senior operating officer at Kingdom Healthcare.
Its other service launch is for users with physical and mental disabilities and mental health issues. People with additional needs will be accompanied during social outings.
‘High-quality social connections and interactions are essential to combatting this epidemic of loneliness,’ said Thinsa. ‘Our carers are dedicated to creating these meaningful social experiences for our service users. Over time we hope this makes service users more invested in their communities, forming new networks and connections with the help of our expert team.’
