Barchester Healthcare has started construction work on a 54-bed care home development in Fareham, Hampshire.

The home, which will be named Camsfield Gardens, is being built by Lawrence Baker. It will provide residential, dementia and respite care for older people.

The property will provide a café, spa bathrooms, en suite bedrooms with smart TVs, lounges, an activities room, a cinema and in-house hair and beauty salon. It will also provide a life enrichment programme, which includes daily activities.

‘We are really excited to get this project under way,’ said Grant Jensen, senior property development manager at Barchester. ‘Our Fareham home will be a fantastic addition to the local community.’

Roddy Webster, contracts manager for Lawrence Baker, said: ‘We are looking forward to the build process and working closely with the Barchester team. This is a fantastic looking building sited in a great location. Together with our management team and carefully chosen sub-contractors, we will deliver this project as planned in early 2028.’
