London-headquartered high-end homecare provider Good Care Group has launched a dementia-specific package, pitching its services at a client group traditionally seen as best cared for in residential care settings.

Beleaguered care home operator Southern Cross has been forced to wind up its operations and transfer the ownership of its 752 care homes to its landlords. In an extraordinary announcement the group said that, during restructuring talks, landlords indicated their preference to leave Southern Cross entirely and to take charge of their portfolios themselves.

Bridges Ventures give CASA £200k injection

The social enterprise domiciliary care provider Care and Share Associates (CASA), which just two months ago announced details of a partnership it had signed with Leeds city council (CCMN May 2011), has revealed plans to create up to 300 new jobs in the North East after receiving investment from London-based investor Bridge Ventures.

Four Seasons take over of Care Principles completed

The Care Quality Commission (CQC) has approved the take over of Care Principles by Four Seasons after this month completing individual reviews of every care home and facility. The owner has confirmed that the employment of all Care Principles employees has now transferred to Four Seasons which will now work hard to ensure the continuity and quality of care provided to patients’.

Positive CareTech push shares up…slightly

Revenues at the publicly owned specialist care provider CareTech Holdings increased by 26% to £52.2m in the six months ending 31 March 2011, according to results published last month. However, while the news appears to have ended a six month slide for share prices, the company has a long way to go if it hopes to regain the market value it held as recently as Christmas 2010.
