Specialist dental insurance provider Denplan has launched a new limited company which will provide investment for its member dental practices.

Specialist dental insurance provider Denplan has reaffirmed its position as the UK’s largest dental payment plan provider in the wake of the launch of Bupa’s new dental network.

Over three million people aged over 50 in the UK are living with a serious illness, according to insurer Engage Mutual.

Bupa has relaunched its Business Fit healthcare product for corporate customers with a num-ber of enhancements. The relaunched product has been designed to enable employers to offer healthcare to more staff and help them stay physically and mentally fit and well. One of the most significant changes is the addition of cash benefits to help employees with a range of everyday healthcare expenses. Employees will also benefit from cover towards four common healthcare expenses including dental, optical, inpatient stays, and the cost of prescriptions.

Bupa has announced plans to launch a 200-strong network of dental centres for its dental insurance customers. The insurance giant said the network would be made up of 35 Bupa owned practices and a growing number of partner dental centres.

The NHS could raise as much as £3.5bn a year by introducing a top-up fee enabling NHS patients to purchase enhanced treatment from NHS trusts and independent sector providers, according to a report published by think tank Civitas.
