Insight Insurance has announced the recruitment of Doug Smith to its corporate insurance consultancy business, as he once more teams up with former Corporate Risk Plc colleague Colin Paterson (managing director and founder) to focus on broadening and strengthening relationships with the private equity community.

The NHS Partners Network (NHSPN) has announced that David Hare will take over as its new chief executive in January, following the retirement of David Worskett this month after six years heading up the organisation.

The Department of Health announced this month that Dominic Dodd, chair of the Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust, was its preferred candidate as chair of Monitor. Mr Dodd has been chair of the trust since 2009 and prior to this he was a non-executive director on the board for three years. He is also director of UCL Partners, Europe’s largest academic health science system and is a non-executive director for Permanent TSB Group Holdings plc.

Serco has announced the resignation of Christopher Hyman as group chief executive. Ed Casey, who has led the outsourcing firm’s Americas division since 2005, has been appointed acting group chief executive with immediate effect.

BMI Healthcare has bolstered its corporate health team with the appointment of Alaana Woods as the new head of B2B and health screening. Previously BMI’s international director, Ms Woods has helped develop and grow the group’s business operations in the Middle East, Asian and North African healthcare markets. Prior to joining BMI, she worked as a business development manager for healthcare marketing company Create Marketing, where she was responsible for client strategy. The appointment is part of the company’s plans to continue expanding its portfolio of business-focused healthcare products, including preventive medicine, rehabilitation and primary care. Ms Woods will work closely with BMI’s health screening departments and hospital executive directors to further improve the group’s offering in the UK business market place.

Atos Consulting has appointed Elaine Bennett as Partner to head up its health consulting business. Ms Bennett joined Atos from Finnamore Consulting Ltd and brings over twenty years of experience in the health sector, where she has held various posts including director of an acute hospital trust and chief executive of commissioning organisations.
