Elysium Healthcare buys residential service

Private mental health services provider Elysium Healthcare has grown its network with the purchase of a residential home in Newport, Wales.

Reene Court is a 16-bed nursing home for adults with a mental health diagnosis.

‘The service will enhance our care pathways within Wales enabling people to step down into lower levels of care when they are ready,’ said Joy Chamberlain, chief executive officer of the group.

Launched in 2016, Elysium was formed following BC Partners’ acquisition of 22 Priory and Partnerships in Care hospitals from Acadia Healthcare for £320m.

It runs more than 70 sites across England and Wales, providing learning disability and neurological services and specialist mental health care.

Most recently, the provider acquired Cotswold Spa Hospital from The Huntercombe Group in September and opened a specialised neurobehavioural rehabilitation service for adults in Swindon in June.

In October, HM reported BC Partners appointed JP Morgan to run the sale of Elysium.
