Bovell takes over from Butler at King Edward VII’s Hospital

Kate Bovell has been appointed CEO at Bupa’s King Edward VII’s Hospital in London.

Bovell previously served as interim CEO at New Victoria Hospital, where she played a key role in its transition following its acquisition by Bupa in August. Prior to that, she spent 11 years in a range of roles at Cromwell Hospital, and has also worked for Spire Healthcare and HCA Healthcare.

She replaces Jeremy Butler who has been CEO at the former charitable hospital since March 2025 and will oversee its day-to-day running, supporting its integration into the wider Bupa health services network.

Since its acquisition by Bupa last October, King Edward VII’s Hospital has been incorporated into Bupa’s London-based healthcare hub, alongside the New Victoria and Cromwell hospitals, outpatient diagnostic centres and clinics.
