Browne Jacobson strengthens health and life sciences team

David Hill and Gerard Hanratty

Browne Jacobson has strengthened its health and life sciences team with the appointment of David Hill as partner.

Hill, who joins the firm from Blake Morgan, specialises in supporting both public and independent healthcare organisations to successfully adopt new medicines, technologies, and service models.

He has also been involved in the development of health sector legislation and seconded to NHS England, where he advised on national policy including devolution, organisational change and the development of integrated care systems. His practice increasingly focuses on the evaluation and deployment of new medicines and health technologies, including AI-enabled medical devices.

Commenting on his appointment, Hill said: ‘The digital transformation of health services, and the adoption of new medicines and technologies, raises genuinely novel legal questions that cut across public law, regulation, privacy and governance.’

Gerard Hanratty, partner and head of health and life sciences at Browne Jacobson, added: ‘David is an exceptional addition to our team and brings a rare combination of policy insight, regulatory expertise, and deep practical experience of the NHS. His track record – from primary legislation and medicines regulation through to the deployment of AI-enabled health technologies – is precisely what our clients working at the forefront of tackling society’s biggest issues need as the digital transformation of health services accelerates.’
