Doctorlink appoints new CEO

Rupert Spiegelberg, chief executive officer, Doctorlink

Virtual health platform Doctorlink has announced the appointment of Rupert Spiegelberg as its new chief executive officer.

Spiegelberg succeeds former Doctorlink CEO and founder Andrew Gardner, who will remain as a special advisor to the Board.

Doctorlink currently provides 24/7 access to digital symptom assessment to more than ten million NHS patients across 1,350 GP practices.

In his new role, Spiegelberg said he would set out to build on the success in the NHS by taking the Doctorlink platform global, to public and private healthcare providers around the world.

The company has a growing business in the US with clients such as Kaiser Permanente and WebMD and has a public private telehealth pilot launching in Europe early this year.

Spiegelberg joins Doctorlink from Munich-based AI-powered digital identity company IDNow, where he spent more than two years as CEO. He was also chief executive of Investis Inc in New York for two and a half years, a global SaaS communications platform.

‘Our success in the NHS has shown that Doctorlink’s platform is head and shoulders above the competition and we are excited to be rolling this technology out globally,’ Spiegelberg said. ‘The benefits in improving patient access to healthcare, shortening waiting times and helping NHS England to save costs makes it a very compelling proposition for primary healthcare providers and insurers.’

Doctorlink was founded in 2017 by global investment company Eight Roads.
