Elysium medical director appointed as president of forensic services

Quazi Haque, executive medical director at Elysium Healthcare and president elect of IAFMHS

Executive medical director of Elysium Healthcare, Quazi Haque, has been appointed as president elect of the International Association of Forensic Mental Health Services (IAFMHS).

The IAFMHS is an international interdisciplinary organisation comprised of mental health and health care professionals dedicated to improving forensic services, improving the lives of forensic patients, and improving the safety of our society.

Haque has been executive medical director at Elysium for more than two years and is also chair of the Royal College of Psychiatrists Forensic Quality Network.

Commenting on his appointment, Haque said: ‘I am delighted to have been appointed president elect of the IAFMHS. I believe that the work we undertake is of great importance in the continued development of forensic and civil mental health services globally.

‘As president elect I hope to continue with the work of the association in supporting high quality research and collaboration between service providers, academics, commissioners and national policy makers.’
