Mayo Clinic London hires operations director

Mayo Clinic Healthcare has appointed Elaine Spence as operations director in its London facility from March. 

Spence will bring more than thirty years’ experience in the healthcare sector to the role.

She will be joining from St John and St Elizabeth Hospital where she has served as commissioning manager for more than a year. 

Prior to this, Spence worked at HCA Healthcare UK’s London Bridge Hospital as theatre coordinator and the Lister Hospital as theatre manager for almost four years.

Mayo Clinic London opened in October 2019 in the Harley Street district as part of a joint venture between Mayo Healthcare and Oxford University Hospitals. 

The facility offers advanced screening and diagnostics services with personalised health plans aimed at both individual and corporate clients. 

However, Oxford exited the partnership less than a year after opening.

Under its new ownership, the clinic began to provide second opinions across all medical conditions and specialties as well as offering genomic and pharmacogenomic analysis, Covid-19 testing and other screening capabilities.
