Vitality has appointed Adam Murphy as group chief finance officer, succeeding Justin Skinner, who is retiring from executive roles.
Murphy took up the role on 1 July and will oversee the group’s finance functions across its operations in the UK, US, Asia and partner markets. He will also continue as regulatory chief finance officer for Vitality’s UK health and life businesses.
He joined Vitality in 2013 from PwC, where he trained as a chartered accountant, and has held a series of senior finance roles across the group’s health and life businesses. He was appointed UK chief finance officer in late 2024.
Skinner joined Vitality in 2017 as group chief risk officer and went on to serve as managing director of VitalityLife before becoming group chief finance officer. He is retiring after nine years with the business to focus on a portfolio of non-executive roles.
Neville Koopowitz, group chief executive, said Murphy brought ‘deep experience, strong leadership and a thorough understanding of our operations’ following more than a decade with the company. He also paid tribute to Skinner’s contribution, saying his leadership and expertise had played a significant role in Vitality’s growth in the UK and internationally.
Commenting on his new role, Murphy said: ‘Having spent more than a decade at Vitality, I’ve had the privilege of working with teams from across the organisation and seeing first-hand what makes our business unique. I look forward to working closely with our international teams as we continue to support our members, partners and the long-term success of the Group.’
