Rehabilitation services provider Renovo Care Group has appointed Peter Kinsey as its chief executive, effective from Monday (1 March).
Kinsey joins with more than 35 years of health and social care experience, having been CEO of the Care Management Group, and subsequently Achieve Together following the rebrand in 2019 with The Regard Group.
After his departure from Achieve together in January 2020, Kinsey worked as a consultant, supporting organisations to improve their Care Quality Commission ratings. He is also a former director of operations at Surrey and Borders Partnership NHS Trust and director of learning disability services at Surrey Oaklands NHS Trust.
He will be replacing Philip Smith who has been in the role since May 2019.
During his time at Renovo, Smith oversaw the initial phase of the creation of the business. He also oversaw the acquisition of Raphael and Glenside hospitals, in Kent and Hampshire respectively, built a management and governance team, managed the re-opening of the South Newton Hospital in Wiltshire, and guided the services through the pandemic.
‘Philip has done a fantastic job securing the future of the services and of the facilities through the acquisition by Renovo Care,’ Kinsey said.
‘Renovo Care has exciting plans to expand its services and build on the quality care already offered and I am excited to be joining at such an interesting time and really looking forward to working with the team to achieve the company’s ambitions.’
Smith added: ‘My tenure as chief executive was meant to be short-term but two years on, I am delighted to be handing the running of the business to Peter.’
