Siemens Healthineers appoints Marques to lead GB&I

Guilherme Marques

Siemens Healthineers has appointed Guilherme Marques as managing director for Great Britain and Ireland.

Marques, who has more than 25 years’ experience in the healthcare sector, moves into the position from his current role leading global commercial lab solutions at Siemens Healthineers. He succeeds Ghada Trotabas, who is moving into a global role at the medical technology group, and will also join the company’s European leadership team, led by Sonja Wehsely.

Marques has headed the global commercial lab solutions business since March 2024, with responsibility for more than 2,000 employees supporting commercial operations across North and South America, Europe, Africa and the Middle East.

He previously served as president of Siemens Healthineers in Latin America and head of diagnostic imaging for the region.

His earlier career with the group included responsibility for its ultrasound and X-ray businesses in Brazil, as well as roles spanning services, marketing, strategy and sales.

Marques said: ‘Great Britain and Ireland is a market I have long admired for its clinical excellence, innovation and commitment to patient care.

‘As I begin this new chapter, I am excited to listen, learn and build strong relationships with our customers, partners and colleagues across the region. Together, we have an opportunity to make an even greater impact for healthcare providers and the patients they serve. I am honoured to lead this exceptional team and look forward to what we can achieve together.’

Trotabas, who has led Siemens Healthineers’ Great Britain and Ireland business since 2022, will become global head of enterprise services, succeeding João Seabra, and will report to Siemens Healthineers managing board member Elisabeth Staudinger.
