Simplyhealth appoints new CEO

Dental plan provider Simplyhealth has appointed Sneh Khemka as its chief executive officer, effective from 29 March.

Sneh Khemka

He replaces Romana Abdin who is stepping down from the role after eight years.

Khemka joins from medical insurance provider Aetna International where he has worked for the past seven years as its VP of the population health and digital primary care businesses.

Prior to this, he was chief operating officer of Advanced Oncotherapy in 2013, and spent more than six years at Bupa in various director roles, including group medical director and director of development for healthcare.

He is also a non executive director at Viapath, a joint venture between Guys & St Thomas’, Kings College Hospital and Serco, and a council member of the Future of Healthcare to the World Economic Forum.

‘Simplyhealth has been improving access to healthcare since its inception in 1872, and the pride and humility I feel at having the opportunity to lead this 150 year old organisation into its new future is immense,’ Khemka said in a post on LinkedIn.

‘Driven by our purpose, we invest our profits to improve health, not to pay shareholders, and I am tasked with reinventing the company for its long-term future, so we can better serve the needs of our millions of customers.’
