sk:n appoints new chief marketing officer

Gavin Hawthorn, new chief marketing officer at the sk:n group

The sk:n group has appointed Gavin Hawthorn as its chief marketing officer who will focus on delivering business growth via customer retention and acquisition.

Hawthorn has a background in marketing and has held roles such as group director of relationship marketing at Pets at Home, where he spent more than six years. Prior to this, Hawthorne was responsible for creation, development and implementation of CRM and loyalty strategies at Whitbread hotels.

Commenting on his appointment, Hawthorn said: ‘sk:n is already well-known for high customer loyalty and satisfaction, based on their responsible and personalised approach to client care. I’m excited to develop this further through initiatives that will take our customer experience to the next level, both in and outside of the treatment room.’

Darren Grasby, sk:n chief executive, said: ‘We brought Gavin on board as his track record in relationship marketing is second to none. His experience will be invaluable as we continue to strengthen the sk:n brand and position the business for growth.’

Hawthorn’s appointment sees interim consultant Jonathan Williams depart after 18 months, where he assisted in the successful sale of sk:n clinics to private equity firm TriSpan in February 2019.

In May sk:n bought aesthetic skincare provider Destination Skin and its 16 clinics nationwide as part of its growth strategy.
