Stokes to take over as MPS chair of council

Graham Stokes

Medical defence organisation Medical Protection Society (MPS) has appointed Graham Stokes as chair of council.

Stokes is a general dental practitioner with a special interest in implants and prosthetics. He lectures widely on dental topics and has led teams of dental volunteers to Tanzania providing dental emergency care.

He will be the first dentist to chair the council when he takes over from Ian Eardley, who is stepping down at the AGM in June after five years as chair.

Commenting on his appointment, Stokes said: ‘Having been a member of MPS all my clinical working life, I know just how important it is to have the confidence and security that the experts at MPS are always there to support me – especially when I need them the most.

‘I am honoured and humbled to be the next chair of the Council of MPS and to be able to give something back to the organisation that has cared for me for so long.’
