Vitality has appointed Katie Tryon as deputy CEO of its health business, a newly created role within the insurer’s global structure.
Tryon (pictured) was previously chief commercial director for health at Vitality. She will now take on additional responsibilities for strategic leadership, stakeholder engagement and operational management for the Vitality Health business, alongside her existing remit overseeing commercial partnerships and member health journeys.
Vitality Health CEO Dr Arun Thiyagarajan said: ‘We’re delighted to announce Katie’s appointment as deputy CEO for the health business. Her expertise across the medical, healthcare and insurance sectors, combined with her commitment to preventative care and innovation, will see us deliver more high-quality services to our members and help them to live healthier lives now and into the future.’
Tryon said Vitality’s approach was centred on the end-to-end customer experience. ‘Vitality has always been an insurer that places its customers at the heart of its business. By considering the complete health experience and outcome of a customer, prioritising health and wellbeing, both at the point of need, and in what can be done to reduce a person’s risk of illness and ill health, we are transforming a person’s experience of health insurance,’ she said.
She added: ‘In the deputy CEO role, my focus will be on further strengthening partnerships, ensuring we have the most effective health journeys and services for our members, and supporting continuous innovation as an organisation.’
The deputy CEO position has been created as part of changes to Vitality’s global structure, reflecting the importance of healthcare and clinical expertise within the health business.
